New Holland Historical Society offers monthly educational programs at Garden Spot Village.

Mark Kelley, Ph.D., in journalism will share the life story of Lydia Hamilton Smith. Ms. Smith was a prominent, mixed-race businesswoman in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the longtime housekeeper, life companion and collaborator of congressman and stanch abolitionist Thaddeus Stevens.
