This month’s Endeavor shares the story of the Share and Care Shop and the impact it has on Garden Spot Village and the greater community. How do you endeavor to live with purpose?
E.J. Rittersbach has been a resident at Garden Spot Village since 2008, and she manages the Share and Care Shop. She is passionate about being a part of community and volunteerism.
The Share and Care Shop has just reached its 20th anniversary on August 15, 2022. The shop is stocked primarily with items from residents and former residents who are further looking to downsize or after the passing of the loved one.
The proceeds from Share and Care are donated to the Benevolent Fund at Garden Spot Village, which ensures that every resident is cared for so that Garden Spot Village stays their community for their lifetime. In the last fiscal year, proceeds from Share and Care incredibly raised over $94,000 for the benevolent fund.
Share and Care reopened from the remodel on September 6, 2022, to a jubilant group of excited shoppers.
