Hello and Welcome to Endeavour – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
Welcome to 2018! I always love the beginning of the new year. For me – – it’s like the start of a big new adventure. A time to consider changes. Discovering the world in new and exciting ways. Putting my experience to better use. Getting to know new people. Putting things in place for a brighter – – better future.
Today, I am in the newly remodeled fitness center. This is state of the art equipment. It recently replaced what had been state of the art equipment ten years ago. That doesn’t happen at even the best commercial fitness centers because they are interested in making a profit. Garden Spot is interested in enriching your life. This new fitness area has an expanded cardio center with a rowing machine, recumbent bikes, elliptical machines, treadmills and more. As a resident this is all yours. No added charge. It’s here for you to use and personal trainers are on staff to help.
The wellness team organizes monthly 5Ks and walks. People participate together and great relationships develop. People ride bikes. And there is always the Garden Spot Village Marathon and Half Marathon in April. I started running when I was 50 and I’ve been surprised at the number of people who move Garden Spot, look at that event, see people older than themselves doing it and think . . . I’m going to train for the half marathon this year. Or – – they look at the Pedal to Preserve cycling event and decide to train for the 20 or 51 mile ride in June with 1,000 other people. There are so many ways to stay in shape even if you don’t like to exercise you’ll find something at Garden Spot.
I have a number of stories about people who decided I want the Garden Spot lifestyle and I want it now. In general once you get on the radar screen it could be well over a year before we make you an offer because there a just that many people who want to move here and only about 65 places become available each year.
Right now there is a rare opportunity for 6 of you. Especially, if you’re between the ages of 55 and 70 because we’ve discovered that our new houses will appeal to you and people in your age group. This typically happens when we wrap up a new construction project. There are 6 brand new, gorgeous houses available on a first come first serve basis. Come visit with Megan or Kelly to see if one of them might be for you.
I’ve been pretty excited talking about this stuff and it’s time to wrap up.
We just posted the January issue of the Garden Variety on the website where you discover everything that’s going on as we start 2018.
This has been Endeavor – Highlighting the Happenings of Garden Spot Village.
I’m Scott Miller and I wanna invite YOU to come — Embrace the Adventure in 2018. As usual, I hope to see you around campus and as I always say. . . Life is Good!
