“In Joshua 4, God asked the children of Israel to build a cairn after they crossed the Jordan River to remind them of His faithfulness. For us, our cairn represents pieces of our past, our alma mater, Cairn University, and reminds us of the ways God leads and provides for us,” says Elizabeth Givens. The cairn, which includes rocks from around the world, also commemorates the importance of travel in the lives of David and Elizabeth Givens, who have been residents of Garden Spot Village since October 2018. Since coming to Garden Spot, the Givens have continued their life of globetrotting, and appreciate how easy traveling has become and how their home is taken care of in their absence. They are also excited about their future prospects at Garden Spot and around the world. As David says, “In our minds, we have an open book before us. The best part of our story has yet to be written.”
